ABOUT

David grew up in Huntington Beach as a 3rd generation resident. As a youth he benefitted from the Public School system in HB while attending Eader Elementary, Sowers Middle, and Edison High School. His free time was spent playing sports, studying for school, living the beach lifestyle, and was fortunate enough to participate in programs like Junior Lifeguards and Model United Nations. David has lived in Huntington Beach over half his life and is married with two children, both of which attend Elementary School in the Ocean View School District.

After graduating college with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he considered a career in law but ultimately decided to pursue a career at his family’s business, Ventura Transfer Company. He currently serves in a leadership capacity as Director of Operations and oversees trucking and railroad transloading operations for intermodal and bulk chemicals. Ventura Transfer Company is an industry leader in the Western United States and has been in business since 1869 as the oldest trucking company in California. Since joining the company David returned to school to earn an M.S. in Operations and Supply Chain Management from Cal State Long Beach.

David values giving back to the community and is active in many industry associations. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Past President of the Transload Distribution Association of North America, an international association focusing on the railroad and transloading industries. As a passionate advocate for education he serves as an Advisory Board member at Cal State Long Beach where he donates his time to educate high school students about career opportunities in the transportation sector and about pursuing undergraduate education in Supply Chain Management. He has lectured about transportation at local high schools and been a mentor for students. David uses his industry expertise to train local law enforcement and safety personnel about the chemical supply chain and to influence Transportation policy at the State and Federal level. He has participated in classroom and field training about isotanks and hazardous materials for the Los Angeles/Long Beach fire Hazmat departments and the Port of Long Beach police.

Combining his leadership in the private sector and his passion for education, David’s goal is to bring common sense leadership back to the Ocean View School District by valuing the rights of parents and student safety and achievement.
